How to Score an Americano on Your Apple Watch or Wear OS
Nobody wants to dig out a phone between points. Here is how to score each Americano round on your wrist and keep the count honest.

Why score an Americano on your watch?
Americano rounds are quick. You play to a set total, like 24 points, then swap partners and go again. Stopping to pull out a phone slows everyone down.
Keeping score in your head is worse. By point 17, somebody always thinks it's 9-8 and somebody else is sure it's 10-7. A tap on your wrist after each point settles it.

How do you set up an Americano for your watch?
Event setup happens on the phone only. Do it before you walk on court.
Then choose to score the round live, and head out.
What does scoring a round look like on the watch?
Each round is an ordinary match on the watch. So scoring is the same one-tap flow you'd use for any game.
- One tap per point. Tap for the pair that won the rally.
- Round and points on screen. Instead of games and sets, the watch shows the round number and how many points have been played.
- Undo. Mis-tapped? Undo it. On Apple Watch you can use the Digital Crown.
- Haptics, always-on and high contrast. On Apple Watch, a buzz on your wrist confirms each point, and the score stays readable at a glance.
The two scores always add up to the round target. In a 24-point round, 14-10, 16-8 and 12-12 are all possible results. A 12-12 draw is legal, and both pairs bank 12.
When the round is done, its points go onto the event ladder. Every player banks their pair's score.
Who serves? The watch tracks it
Serving in an Americano trips people up, because there are four players and no games to mark the change.
In Scorepion, the serve changes every 2 points and rotates through all four players: A1, A1, B1, B1, A2, A2, B2, B2. The watch follows that for you.
If the court started with a different server, change it. Correcting the server restarts that player's block of two. Clubs don't all serve the same way, so see who serves in an Americano for the common options.
Does it work for organisers and players?
Yes, both. The flow on the watch is the same. What differs is what happens around it.
If you're the organiser, your own court can be scored point by point on the watch or the phone, or you can type in the final score. The other courts get typed in on your phone. Every court must report its score before the next round is drawn.
If you're playing in someone else's event, you use participant mode. Pick your four players, score the round on your watch, and your own ladder builds as you go.
